MEAF

The Missionary Education Assistance Fund was established over thirty years ago to assist missionary parents with the cost of their children's education through High School. MEAF is not an endowment fund, rather it is a revolving fund. That is, periodically all gifts received for this purpose are forwarded to those on the field. Presently this is done twice a year.

WARM FUND

The Widows And Refocused Missionary Fund is another revolving fund distributed as funds are available to those listed in the Prayer Handbook as widowed or retired from service on the foreign field but serving the Lord back home...thus the term "Refocused". Gifts are sent out when a sufficient sum has been received or the Directors have allocated some discretionary funds to increase the amount available for distribution.

EMERGENCY FUND

This fund was set-up so that sufficient funds would be immediately available in the event it became necessary to evacuate missionaries from an overseas area in an emergency, especially military problems. While the repatriation is the responsibility of the local assembly it is good to have the needed funds on hand for immediate use. CMML looks to the commending assembly to reimburse the fund when it is used for their commended missionary(ies). Such repayment is to be made when, as, and if the assembly is able to do so.

DISASTER FUND

Some years ago it became evident that it would be wise to have funds available for immediate release to the Lord's servants when a natural or man-made disaster occurs, such as the tsunami or the wars in D.R. Congo. Previously such funds were just distributed as received but it was obvious that relief supplies were available in greater quantity if obtained before the black market and high prices set in. This fund is maintained at a certain amount for emergencies and gifts are added to it for distribution as needed. Funds are used to assist believers and assemblies and to reach out to the unsaved.

MEMORIAL FUNDS

In lieu of flowers, many times gifts are received in memory of a relative or friend who has been called Home to be with the Lord. Notices of these gifts are sent to the bereaved. The bereaved are not advised of the individual amounts, but only the total received along with a list of the names and addresses of the donors. A request is made for any suggestions they might want to make for the distribution. If after an extended period of time and a reminder notification has been sent without any response to either, the funds are distributed to the MEAF as this fund is helpful to many missionaries.

ESCROW ACCOUNTS

Sometimes when a donor makes a large contribution either in cash or securities they are not prepared to make suggestions for the full distribution of the funds. On request we will consider establishing an escrow account and holding the funds for a specified period of time pending additional instructions. Such accounts can also be set up to distribute the funds received on a periodic basis. Many times these accounts are established at year end so that the donor gets a current year receipt for income tax purposes but does not have to be under pressure to suggest how these funds might be used.  However according to law, control of the distribution of the funds rests with CMML, but the donor's requests are followed whenever possible.

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITIES

A Charitable Gift Annuity is an excellent way to support Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc., increase your income for the rest of your life, and reduce your tax bill.  A gift annuity is a contract between an individual (or a couple) and CMML, which exchanges an irrevocable gift (of cash or securities) made to CMML for a guaranteed, lifetime stream of income paid to the individual (or couple).  The annuity rate is based on the donor's age at the time of the gift, and is fixed for the life of the annuity.  Several payment options are available to fit your specific needs.  Our gift annuity program is well established, having faithfully served the Lord's people for well over a decade.  Current gift annuity rates and additional information can be obtained by contacting our office.

CHARITABLE TRUSTS

To further serve the needs of the Lord's people CMML has established a Charitable Trust program.  We can assist you in the establishment of a charitable trust that can meet several of your goals including: support of the Lord's work, increased income for your family, avoidance of capital gains taxes, and the generation of a tax deduction in the year a charitable trust is funded.  There are several different types of charitable trusts available to meet your specific situation.  We welcome the opportunity to discuss the different options that are available with you.  Please contact the CMML office for more information.

BIBLE FUND

This fund is available for donors who wish to make contributions for the purpose of translating and printing Bibles in various languages.  These funds are used from time to time as requests are received from missionaries on the foreign field.

CMML IS A MINISTRY OF FAITH

100% of the funds received for missionaries are sent to them.  No charges are ever made for any services rendered to the missionaries by CMML.  No deduction is taken from contributions received from assemblies or individual donors to help with the operating expenses of the office and missionary home unless CMML is instructed to do so by the donor.  We are very thankful to the Lord for donors who remember this need and mark a portion of their gift "For Operating Expenses".
